Introduction:

As a digital marketer, I understand the importance of search engine optimization (SEO) in today’s business landscape. In order to attract new customers and remain competitive, businesses need to have a strong online presence that is optimized for search engines.

In this blog, I will share my experience of achieving SEO results with the new EEAT (Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) standards.

Importance of SEO in Today’s Business Landscape:

Are you looking to reach potential customers online? That’s SEO, friends. A strong SEO strategy can improve search engine rankings, increase website traffic, and ultimately lead to more conversions and revenue.

With more and more consumers turning to search engines to find products and services, SEO has become a vital component of any digital marketing campaign.

Understanding the New EEAT Standards:

The new EEAT standards were introduced by Google to help ensure that websites providing health and financial advice have a high level of expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness.

While these standards were initially only meant for websites in specific industries, they have now been expanded to all websites. This means that businesses need to ensure that their website content is accurate, well-researched, and trustworthy.

Conducting Keyword Research Using Google Keywords and Ahrefs:

One of the first steps to achieving SEO success is conducting thorough keyword research. I used both Google Keywords and Ahrefs to identify relevant keywords for the landscaping company I was working with.

By analyzing search volume and competition, I was able to identify a range of keywords that were both relevant to the business and had a high search volume for this difficult niche.

Competitor Analysis:

Competitor analysis is another important step in the SEO process. By analyzing what keywords your competitors are ranking for, you can identify opportunities to improve your own rankings.

I used Ahrefs to analyze the landscaping company’s competitors and identify keywords that they were ranking for. This allowed me to create a strategy to target these keywords and improve the company’s search engine rankings.

Revamping the Website with Pillar Content and Silos:

Once I had identified the relevant keywords, I began revamping the landscaping company’s website with pillar content and silos. Pillar content refers to comprehensive and in-depth content that covers a broad topic.

Silos are a way of organizing website content into specific categories or themes. By creating pillar content and silos, I was able to improve the website’s structure and make it easier for search engines to crawl and index the site.

Using Rankmath to Optimize SEO Titles and Descriptions:

Rankmath is a WordPress plugin that makes it easy to optimize SEO titles and descriptions. I used Rankmath to ensure that each page on the landscaping company’s website had a unique and optimized title and description.

This helped to improve the website’s click-through rate and overall search engine rankings.

Leveraging Social Media for SEO Success:

Social media can be a powerful tool for improving search engine rankings. By creating engaging and shareable content on social media, businesses can attract more backlinks to their website, which can improve search engine rankings.

I worked with the landscaping company to create simplified and engaging social media posts that were designed to attract backlinks and improve search engine rankings.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, achieving SEO success with the new EEAT standards requires a combination of thorough keyword research, competitor analysis, website revamping, and optimization techniques. Think of using EEAT as a foundation to build a very strong house. While a house takes time to build, EEAT helps the build be strong and withstand the test of time.

By using tools such as Google Keywords, Ahrefs, and Rankmath, I was able to take a landscaping company from having no first page keywords to ranking on 10 pages of first page keywords in just two weeks. It’s important to note that timing varies. This site was already existing and these results aren’t realistic for a brand new build.

By implementing great alt text and correct SEO titles and descriptions, I was also able to raise their Google search scores by huge margins, from 22% to 58% of their clients, in just one week.

With the increasing importance of SEO in today’s business landscape, it is important for businesses to stay up-to-date with the latest standards and optimization techniques to remain competitive and attract new customers.

  1. This was a good read.
Here is what I think of it
Great blog post! I found the section on revamping the website with pillar content and silos to be particularly interesting. Have you noticed a significant improvement in search engine rankings after implementing this strategy?
    Thanks, Ely

    1. Thanks for the feedback! There was indeed a significant increase to the rankings of the clients this strategy was implemented with – and in a shorter timeframe than originally anticipated. It’s important to implement the strategy a client or two at a time when conducting a complete overhaul as I was. There are several small tweaks and adjustments based on data that can save a load of trouble with the next set of clients when approached a small bit at a time. Once the overhaul is complete, a maintenance regiment becomes crucial. I’ll discuss that in an upcoming blog 😊
